SERVICES

Mental health evaluations, reports, and reviews built around the right question.

Six focused ways to evaluate, document, or better understand the clinical evidence in a VA mental health claim.

01 / WAYS WE CAN HELP

One practice. Six focused options.

VA Nexus Psych provides mental health evaluations, reports, records reviews, and professional consultation for VA disability claims.

The best fit depends on the question your claim needs answered and the records available. You do not have to choose it alone.

Dr. Bell personally reviews your records, conducts each evaluation, and writes every report or opinion he signs. VANP is self-pay and does not take insurance. The veteran or their representative submits the report to VA. The practice does not automatically file a claim and does not guarantee a claim outcome.

02 / SIX OPTIONS

Six options. Each built for a clear question.

Some questions need a full evaluation. Others may need a report, a records review, or professional consultation.

Evaluations

Independent psychological evaluations

A full mental health evaluation built around the question your VA claim needs answered.

Occupational-functioning evaluations

A full psychological evaluation of how mental health symptoms affect work.

Reports and opinions

Nexus opinions

A written psychological opinion about whether a mental health condition is linked to military service or another service-connected condition.

Mental health DBQs

A VA form that records current diagnoses, symptoms, and their effects on daily life, relationships, and work.

Reviews and consultation

Records and prior-opinion reviews

A focused review of selected records and one clear clinical question—without starting with a full evaluation.

Professional consultations

A structured consultation with Dr. Bell for attorneys, accredited claims agents, VSOs, and referring health professionals.

03 / HOW TO CHOOSE

Start with what your claim needs.

Choose the statement that best describes your situation. It will help identify the evaluation, report, or review that may best fit your claim.

“I want a full review of my mental health history, symptoms, and records.”

“I need an opinion about a link to service or another service-connected condition.”

“VA or my representative asked for a current mental health DBQ.”

“I need to explain how my mental health symptoms affect work.”

“I want to understand what my records or a prior opinion show.”

“I am an attorney, claims agent, VSO, or health professional with a case question.”

“My claim involves MST or another traumatic event.”

05 / FOR PROFESSIONALS

For attorneys, claims agents, VSOs, and referral professionals.

  • Which type of help, if any, fits the case
  • What the records or a prior opinion show
  • Whether a clinical question can be answered
  • What an independent opinion can and cannot address
  • How to coordinate a referral
